At Graphix Marketing, we’re always looking to refine how we present ourselves — both online and in the real world. This week marked two key steps forward: a tidy refresh of our website’s testimonial section, and my first ever networking event with the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
Cleaner, Clearer Testimonials
Our testimonial section has had a much-needed refresh — moving away from a cramped layout and towards something cleaner, more modern, and easier to read.
Testimonials are now presented in a moving, card-based layout
They focus on clarity and results, as well as a cool design
The section feels more aligned with the quality of the projects we deliver
It’s a small change — but one that better communicates the value we provide to our clients.
My First Sheffield Chamber Networking Event
Attending the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce event was a big step for me personally. I’ll be honest — I was nervous heading in. I’m used to talking to clients one-on-one or presenting work I’ve already delivered, not walking into a room full of strangers and selling myself from scratch.
But within a few minutes of walking in, I realised: everyone’s in the same boat. Just people, running businesses, open to new conversations. There were also a few familiar faces which was a relief!
What stood out most was how welcoming and down-to-earth everyone was — not just in terms of chatting, but in being genuinely curious about each other’s work. I had conversations with people in industries I don’t usually come across day-to-day, as well as people in my own industry offering tips and advice to each other. I began to see new ways that GraphixMarketing could be put in the spotlight — and how other businesses might be able to help me.
This event wasn’t just about “getting leads” (though yes, it opens a new stream of potential work). It was more about showing up, learning to talk about my business out loud, and starting to plant seeds in the local business community.
It's early days, but I can already see how being part of something like the Chamber could open doors — both professionally and personally.
